Homegrown Timber specialises in mechanical solutions for tree and vegetation problems in the engineering and construction environment.


 

We will also offer to liaise with local authorities or environmental agents to agree the optimum method of managing trees and vegetation.
 
We maintain the following plant for clearance work.

  • 360 excavators with timber forks.
  • Heavy duty mulchers mounted on both tracked or wheeled machines.
  • Heavy Duty Stumpgrinder for high capacity stump clearance.
  • Mechanical scrub buster mounted on an excavator arm.
  • Timber Forwarders, Loaders, Winches, Telescopic Handler
  • Chippers (Tracked, trailed, tractor mounted).
  • The Company also provides access equipment and a range of earth moving and drainage plant.

 

Our team of experienced in-house craftsmen include machine drivers, chainsaw operators and tree surgeons.

Operatives have competence and safety certificates from ITSSAR and NPTC. Training skills are regularly updated.

Homegrown Timber is also a timber merchant with outlets for all timber and wood produce. 

The value of utilisable timber is offset against the price of clearance jobs.

  • A2M2 Environmental Mitigation Subcontracting to Tilhill Economic Forestry to remove 15ha of woodland.

    Received commendations from Highway Agency and consulting engineers Maunsell.

  • Marquess Golf Course, Woburn

    Clearance and mulching of vegetation and roots left from a previous felling contract. 

High value amenity site requiring an extremely high quality finish.

  • Queenwood Golf Course, Woking
    Clearfelling, grubbing of roots and clearance of scrub and tree nursery areas. Approximately 55Ha. Site left clear for course construction. 
  • Channel Tunnel Rail Link
    Working to Rail Link Engineering clearing vegetation for Channel Tunnel Rail Link between Ashford and Maidstone in Kent. Involved extensive liaison with the many different landowners.
  • Channel Tunnel Rail Link, Hochtief Norwest Holst JV
    Contract with Hochtief Norwest Holst JV to remove vegetation from construction site and to remove stumps from 15 ha of woodland and 10 km of hedging.
  • Croydon Tramlink, Amey McAlpine JV
    Clearance of trees and vegetation for Croydon Tramlink. Urban environment with access problems demanding sensitivity. Mixed discipline teams were on short notice in support of construction as work progressed over 12 months.
  • Highways Agency A2M2 Environmental Mitigation
    Contract with TEF to translocate 15 ha of woodland topsoil as part of Highways Agency environmental mitigation.
  • CTRL440, Balfour Beatty Rail
    Contract with Blackwell Construction to remove trees, vegetation and stumps from construction site including railside.
