Homegrown is an Arboricultural Association Utility Approved contractor specialising in Vegetation Management, Arboriculture, Fencing & Ecology working in Rail, Highway, Utilities & Construction sectors.

The company provides these services across the UK, however this opportunity is based primarily in the Northern England area and in the rail sector.

About the job

Due to increased orders from new and existing clients, we are currently looking for SSOWP / Possession Planners for a variety of arboriculture / vegetation management activity works in the York / Leeds / Doncaster area.

You will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to lead a team. Having a passion and taking pride in your work and have a good understanding of current industry best practices.

Competitive rates of pay offered dependent upon qualifications and experience. You will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays.

This is a full time position working a minimum of 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. There are further opportunities for additional shifts at the weekend / working away from home on an ad-hoc basis.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Personal Health & Safety.

- Compiling safe systems of work plans.

- Ensuring compliance with relevant railway standards.

- Develop and document Safe Work Plans (SWP).

- ALO management / coordination with Project Manager.

- Assist and advise Project Manager / Site Manager on the delivery of plant / materials to site.

- Supporting Company and Client derived initiatives.

Qualifications, Competencies and / or Skills Required:

- Basic knowledge in quality systems particularly document control.

- Forestry & vegetation awareness.

- Environmental awareness.

- Able to follow procedures / processes and attention to detail.

- Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

- Competency in Microsoft.

- SWP Safe system of work planner (019 Standard)

- Railway and local knowledge (Minimum 3 years)

- H&S Awareness.

- CDM Awareness.
